Why It Is Worth Checking
A customer who hits an error does not tell you. They go to the next business in the search results.
A form can stop delivering with no sign on your side. The customer sees nothing wrong, and you never get the message.
A site keeps changing after it is built. Updates run, phone numbers change, offers and holiday hours go out of date.
Every ad you pay for sends people to the same site. If a button or a form is broken, you pay for the click and still lose the customer.
Five Stops, in the Order a Customer Meets Them
Everything on the list is something that can stop a sale.
-
01
Arriving.
Does the site open quickly, with no warnings? The padlock, page speed on a phone, pages that fail to load, broken links, and anything telling Google to hide a page.
-
02
Understanding.
Can they see what you offer and what to do next? The first screen, the menu, prices and photos, empty or placeholder sections, and anything out of date.
-
03
Trusting.
Does anything make them hesitate? Every phone number and whether its link dials the number shown. Your name, address, phone and hours against your Google listing, Facebook and Yelp.
-
04
Acting.
Can they call you or buy in a few taps? Every main button, the taps it takes to reach you, and one buying or booking path walked from start to the payment step, on a desktop and on an iPhone-sized screen.
-
05
Confirming.
Does their message reach you? Up to 3 forms filled in and sent once as a marked test. You confirm whether each one arrived, and how long it took. On a site that takes health details nothing is sent, and you run the one test yourself from the report.
Why This Check and Not a Free Scan
It is checked by a person.
I run every check myself, with a testing process I built and keep improving. Every main button is clicked, and every form field typed into. With your yes, your forms are really sent, and your buying or booking path is really walked. Every finding is opened and confirmed on the page, with a screenshot. Nothing from a tool goes in unchecked.
It is written for you.
Plain English, sorted High, Medium and Low, with the three things to fix first. A list of what was checked and found working, so you know what is fine. A separate technical fix list to forward to whoever looks after your site.
For Web Agencies
Launch QA that hands your developers the fix, not just the bug. Every page is checked against the approved design, every finding comes back written for whoever fixes it, and your client sees a clean site.

I check websites for a living. My day work is launch QA: going through a site before it goes live, so the faults are found before customers find them. You deal with me directly, from the first email to the last answer.
